Happy Beltane! Heart listening and pollen paths

Beltane Magic, walking the pollen path, + this week's ritual video and news updates.

May you walk softly on the earth,
listening to the whispers of your heart,
embracing both the thorns and the blooms.
May courage rise within you
like the white rose of wisdom,
gentle yet resilient.
Blessed be your journey of becoming,
your resistance, your renewal,
your sacred unfolding.
May you step out of force
and into the ease,
trusting the rhythm
of your own pollen path.

This week's shop update features our special edition May kit for our Patreon members as well as some assorted OOAKs and color experiments and our very first “giant” Floras, just in time for May Magic.

Life’s Bits and Pieces:

Remain curious about your own life,
listening with love
to what you really need.
Remember:
Do not force.
Do not push.
Let yourself settle and soften.
Feel stillness work its magic.
Allow the blessing of acceptance
to sweep through you.

  • Reading:

    • to self: The Spellshop. Enjoyable so far! Cottagecore tale about a librarian with a spider plant sidekick who starts an illicit business making spells after a political revolution destroys the library in which she has been sequestered for years and she has to flee to a small island. The book is interesting in how it sprinkles bits of fantasy in without being dramatic about it, such as the main character has blue skin and blue hair and purple freckles and this is unremarkable—some people have extra arms or horns or are centaurs, etc.

    • to kids: Crystal Keepers. Book THREE in the Five Kingdoms series. YES! I made it. Each book in this series is set in a different kingdom, each of which has a different specialty of magic. Unlike the medieval-esque style of the other two books, this one is the technologically advanced kingdom and there are monorails, credits, etc. instead of knights on horseback.

  • Watching:

    • The Amazing Race, season 33. This is the season in which Penn and Kim from the Holdnerness family (referenced in last week’s newsletter) competed.

    • American Ninja Warrior, season 16 (Tanner and I watch this together).

  • Looking forward to:

    • brief trip to Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City with friends

    • Lann and Zander’s student art show on campus

    • sending out our next batch of magic mail

    • releasing our new Galaxy goddess sculpt

  • Thinking about: what book project to focus on next. They’re whirling and swirling and one wants to settle in.

  • Resource recommendation: we made a donation this week to the Florence Immigrant Project suggested in a recent video chat by Elizabeth Gilbert and Glennon Doyle. (Explanatory side note: in the audio edition I spoke a bit more about Glennon’s arrival to Substack and since the audio was recorded, she has left it already, so that comment by me is already out of date.)

Heart Listening and Pollen Paths

Reminder: Step out of force and into ease. Trust your heart, embrace new beginnings, and navigate life's challenges with love, courage, and gentle awareness. We must acknowledge both the thorns and beauty of life while remaining open to wisdom, growth, and the sacred rhythms of nature.

Journal Questions:

  • How are you preparing for a fresh new beginning?

  • How are you lifting a small fist of resistance?

  • How are you choosing to take action, even in the thorny patches of life?

  • How are you stopping to smell the roses?

  • How are you navigating the thorns?

  • How are you savoring beauty?

Affirmations for the week:

  • I listen to my heart.

  • I know myself.

  • I trust the wisdom of my heart.

  • I navigate the thorns of life with love and courage.

  • I walk the pollen path.

  • I tune my life to the rhythm of the land I live on.

  • I listen to the song of the sacred unfolding.

  • I come back home to myself.

  • I risk stepping into my own joy.

Listen:
the orioles return,
the peepers sing,
the world knows nothing
of perfection,
only of persistent growth,
of showing up,
of holding what hurts
with tender hands.
I am the small black bee
diving into blue lotus possibilities
singing of my own becoming
softly, fiercely, true.
Walk with me
on this pollen path
where magic lives
in the simple act
of being here.

Much love,

Molly, Mark, + Family
