Clearing a path to truth

Pollen Path Goddesses and Motherwort, our herb of the month

Today, there is gray sky
and raindrops,
leaning green trees,
restless air,
and hawks watching
from the roadsides as
life speeds along.
This is the poem.
We are living it now.
The unfolding is the story
and the path.

This week's shop update features our special edition “Pollen Path” pink goddesses for May. Really excited about these beauties!

Life’s Bits and Pieces:

I have released
the notion of self improvement
and have stepped into
the life-renewing practice
of return,
each day
inhabiting the blessing
I have been invited
to live.

  • Quote of the week: “I want to stand by the river in my finest dress. I want to sing, strong and hard, and stomp my feet with a hundred others so that the waters hum with our happiness. I want to dance for the renewal of the world.” ― Robin Wall Kimmerer

  • Interested to see: that this year at this exact same time I was pondering book ideas and choosing between manuscripts to finish. This is where I find myself again. What I chose last year was Replenish. This year I’ve decided to finally choose her sister book, Return, which I’ve been planning since this time last year. I have also decided to wait until June to start working on this one in earnest, giving myself time for my older sons to finish the semester and my oldest to graduate with his AFA. Note: after I made the audio for this newsletter, I realized I must have been looking at an older newsletter rather than one from May, because Replenish was already published by this time last year!

  • Loving:

    • Orioles at the feeder! They make me so happy.

  • Reading:

    • to self: The Spellshop. Still enjoyable cottagecore!

    • to self: We Hunt the Flame. OMGoddess! This one is so good so far. I’d checked this out of the library from the YA fantasy display table with no frame of reference or previous information about it. This is a fantasy world inspired by ancient Arabia, so it draws upon the myths, stories, symbols, and traditions of those cultures. I’m sorry if any actual YA people want to check out fantasy books from the library, because I am 46 and I hoard them all.

    • to kids: Crystal Keepers. Book three in the Five Kingdoms series.

  • Watching:

    • Atlantis: older and kind of cheesy, but Mark and I really needed something to watch that wasn’t terribly gritty or gory. We tried Reacher, The Accountant, and The Bondsman as well as a new sci-fi series that I immediately forgot the name of in quick succession. We only got 30 minutes in to each one before we gave up on them. This one is mild and pretty “friendly” and is giving some Xena vibes. Plus, Medusa and Ariadne are both characters, so that is fun.

  • Looking forward to:

    • brief trip to Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City with friends.

    • Lann’s graduation! It is coming up soon!

Clearing a Path to Truth

Reminder: Take your place in the rhythm of belonging. Gather what you need to support yourself, set things down and let things go, make intentional choices that allow you to flourish. We can create space for growth by setting down unnecessary weights and embracing our own paths with compassion and clarity.

Journal Questions:

  • What can I cut from my life to clear a path to truth?

  • What do I need to release in order to grow?

  • What feels heavy to me right now?

Affirmations for the week:

  • I have a calm and loving center.

  • I embrace my sharp edges.

  • I create a container for my tenderness.

  • I have a deep sense of integrity.

  • Clarity opens a path to truth.

  • I am part of the great canvas of creation.

  • I step into the possibility of lightening my load.

  • In daily practice, I nourish myself, body and mind, heart and spirit.

Listen to how the Earth
is patient with everything
that dreams,
everything that takes
its own time
to emerge.
Watch how life trusts
its own capacity
to continue.
Remember you are complete
as you are.

Much love,

Molly, Mark, + Family
